One Very Very Cute Baby Girl!

My niece Braylee was born on April 14, 2009. I am a little slow on getting these blogs out, but I need to do an ode to that sweet little girl! She is quite the angel and I love her so much already. She smiles alot and is the most adorable baby you could imagine. She is probably the cutest thing you have ever seen. I just love her!! The best thing about it is she is only a couple of minutes away. Here are few pictures of the beauty. (An ode to Eventide is coming soon!)

San Francisco Again!!

Yes, I went to San Francisco again. I just love that place! This time I owe it all to my very good friend Holly! I was able to be a chaperone for a high school that she works at. We took 41 students and I had such a great time! We literally did not have a moment to spare on this trip. We went from one thing to the next, to the next, to the next.... We got there about 1 am Friday morning. Here is a quick review of our trip: Friday morning at 9 am we started at the Exploratorium. At about 11, we ate down at a place called "Squat and Gobble" in the cutest little part of San Francisco. By 12, we were back on the coach bus and on our way to Golden Gate Park where we spent time in the Conservatory of Flowers and then walked over to this AMAZING art museum. This museum was absolutely huge (I think it was 6 or 7 floors). I have never seen an art museum like this. I could have spent an entire day in there and still not seen half of what was in there. I loved it. After the museum we went over to Pier 39 where we visited the Wax Museum. Then headed down to the Aquarium, which reminded me of 'Shark's Reef' at Mandalay Bay. We then took a couple cabs and went down to Chinatown. We didn't stay there too long before returning back to Pier 39 where I got the best caramel apple ever from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. I, of course, had to have the clam chowder in the bread bowl and about 10:30pm, everyone got back on the bus and we head back to the hotel. And that was just day one...

Day Two ... Started at about 8 am and we went down to Alcatraz. You have to take a ferry to reach the small island that Alcatraz is on. For those of you who are unfamiliar with what Alcatraz is, I will give you a brief history lesson. It was, at one time, a prison that felons went to. It was not usually the first choice for most felons. One person you might know of is Al Capone. You are able to take a tour of the prison and you wear these head phones that have the voices of officers and prisoners that spend time there. I highly recomment going to see this if you are ever in San Francisco. After returning back from the island, we headed down to Six Flags/Marine World amusement park. We had a blast there and spent time petting elephants and riding rollarcoasters. By this time, I was pretty beat, but we still had one very special place to go...Union Square! It is such a unique and beautiful place to shop. It was just one store after another. It was a great time. Finally by around 1030, we went back to the hotel. On Sunday, we headed back and all were exhausted!

I really had a great time and I have to thank Holly for ALL OF IT!! Thank you Holly! The pictures are out of order, but that's okay.

Cleveland, Here We Come!

I decided to post as many as I can at one time! Colby and I took a trip to Ohio where we spent some time with some wonderful friends and just had a good 'ol time. Colby actually surprised with the tickets and since I've never been to this side of the country, I was so excited. This is where Colby went on his mission, so it was fun to see where he was for those two years. Our good friends Amber and Doug just bought a house there and Doug is currently in podiatry school Cleveland. It was so great to spend time with them and we also got to know some of their friends. I am not sure how this happened, but we didn't get any pictures with them! Colby and I went to the Nauvoo temple and did a little sighseeing (as much as you can in Cleveland). You wouldn't expect this, but they had the best malls there! So needless to say, we did a little shopping. We also went to Macaroni Grill with Amber and Doug and some of their friends and had a blast. Amber and her two good girl friends all had birthdays within days of each other so they brought out three huge desserts, which were sooo good! All in all, we had a great time!

Cultural Leadership Retreat

So I am well aware that I am the worst at updating my blog! But in the beginning of February, my coordinator and I were able to go on the cultural leadership retreat as facilitators and it was such a great experience. It was up in Warner Spring in California and I had such a great time there. It was a great eye-opening experience and I plan on going doing more things like this on campus. We stayed in these little cabins and everyday our day was literally packed. Although I was exhausted by the end, It was well worth it and it will be an experience that I will always remember. We talked about so many different topics and it was great to get to know so many more students and faculty on campus on a whole different level. Here are a few pictures so enjoy!

A Red Bluff Thanksgiving

So we headed over to Red Bluff, CA to Colby's parents place for Thanksgiving. I absolutely love going there. They live on a 40 acre ranch so they have plenty of hills and a tremendous view around them. Not only are they located in an amazing place but the company was great too! I just love Colby's mom and dad and David and Tiffany were able to come down with their two adorable ( I mean really adorable ) kids, Liam and Asher. We went shopping, the boys went quail hunting and marked the lambs, golfing, we did our black Friday deal, we had a very delicious Thanksgiving dinner, and just had a great time catching up with each other and spending time with one another. I told Colby that I really wanted to go to San Francisco since I have never been while we were up at their parents home. It is about 3 hours from there and at first Colby didn't seem like he really wanted to go. BUT Colby surprised me and got a hotel room at Sir Francis Hotel for a night right in the heart of San Francisco (in Union Square) and we spend about two days there before we caught our flight in Stockton. I loved it in San Francisco! We went to Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square (GREAT shopping), Lombard Street, San Francisco Bridge, and the Oakland Temple. The view from the temple was sweet and since the streets in that city are so steep, you are able to see the whole valley once you get up to the top of the streets. I defintely recommend a visit there. There are a few crazies...but that seems to be the case everywhere you go. We were gone for a little over a week and we finally got back to the airport in Las Vegas Wednesday night. I was standing by the baggage claim and guess who I passed on the way to wait for our bags?? You ready.... Chuck Liddell! I just couldn't miss out on a chance to take a picture with him so I took my camera right up to him and asked him if he was chuck and we took a picture. It was great. Here are some pictures from the trip! enjoy!

We went to this place called 'House of Design' and it was decorated for Christmas. I seriously have never seen such a beautiful shop. The lady who owns the shop came in 2nd place for flower arrangements in the world. She has talent like you coudn't believe.

Rock Climbing Extravaganza

Last week, Colby and I went to an indoor rock climbing place with our great friends Amy and Grant. I forgot what the place it is actually called, but there are 20 or so different rock walls you can climb up and you are pretty much free to roam the place and climb whatever you want. I had been once before to this same place, but forgot how much I loved it! There were some walls that were just ridiculous that I would never even attempt to climb! However, I think I was pretty much a pro by the end of it... It was fun for all of us to get together and try this place out, I definitely recommend it! Here are a few pictures from our adventure...

Happy Happy Birthday Nater!

I know its been quite some time since I posted last...I'll get better one day, I promise! Colby and I just got a new camera so I hoping that it gives us more reason to take pictures. We were able to go celebrate Nate's birthday at Cheesecake factory last week. It was, of course, delicious! We had just received our new camera in the mail that day so we decided to start taking pictures with it. We posted a few of them with his post. I think Kim and Nate probably have the cutest little girl in the world. She is simply beautiful! It was a great spending time with them, Holly, and some of their family. I think we need to do alot more of that ! Colby and I also bought a new car about a month or two ago. We needed something that would save a bit more gas than the explorer but still last for awhile. We ended up getting a Nissan Altima. I knew it was a popular car, but now that I am driving it, I probably see 50 cars a day driving my same car! I also found out that my sister is pregnant!! So now I have one niece and two babies on the way! I am so excited to see them. I believe my oldest sister is due in April and then my younger sister is due in May. May19th to be exact, which is only 3 days from my birthday. I think it would be awesome to have a little niece or nephew share my birthday! For some reason, my family does everything all at the same time. Four us got married in a two year span and now three of my family are having babies all at the same time. It is an exciting time for all of them and I'm excited for the new additions. I am going to post a few pictures, enjoy!

California Fun!

Every year my family goes to the beach for two weeks. This year me and Colby were only able to go for four days out of the 2 weeks, but we were still able to have a great time. We layed on the beach, we swam in the ocean, we shopped, and we also were able to go to the San Diego Zoo. I have never been to the zoo, but I seriously loved it. There were literally thousands of animals there from rhinos to polar bears to alligators and gorillas. I definitely would go back there! They had this little sky transportation thing where you get to see over the entire zoo plus the city all around it. It was one of my favorite parts, I loved it! I also saw some animals I didn't even know existed. Of course there were giraffes, elephants, seals, and all that kind of stuff. But besides that, there were some really strange things they had there. I put up a picture of one of the animals I thought looked kinda funny with it's long hair. If anyone is in San Diego, I definitely recommend visiting that place and it is much cheaper than all the other theme parks. It was so nice to take a little break from the usual work type thing and just relax at the beach and spend some time with family. One of the nights there, we all decided to take a trip down to Hunington Beach which was a little bit away from oceanside which is where we were at. So we get to Hunington beach and do some shopping. On the way back, we all decide to use Jane (our GPS system) to get us to a restaurant and then back to Oceanside. To make a long story short, we tried to get to about 5 restaurants and finally landed at Dennys because we had no other choice and it was about 10 30 at night. I decided to post a few pictures so you can see part of our fun! Enjoy!

My new baby niece Aubrie Maya!

So my brother and sister had their first little girl. It is the first grandbaby on both sides, so she is one spoiled thing! However, she is also the cutest thing you have ever seen. I think she was smiling as she was born. She was only born Monday and my sister-in-law looks like she never had a baby at all! Aubrie weighed 6 lbs, 9 oz and I believe she is 16 0r 18 inches long. She has dark hair and looks like a little angel. Everyone in the family is obsessed with her and every screen saver and phone screen displays a picture of this precious little girl. I thought you might enjoy a few pictures of the little one, so enjoy! (p.s. - you have to check out the video on aaron and ashley's page....it's adorable! there is a link from my page)

Kalai!

So I went to a little concert in the park with Kalai almost a month ago. I don't know if anyone knows who Kalai is, but he has some amazing songs. I bet you have heard his 'On My Mind' or 'Divide'. It was crowded at all so you could sit really close to him. There were people who were playing before him and when he came, I actually didn't even know it was him. He didn't look like anything what I imagined so I thought he was just another person who was coming to play before Kalai. He seems like a really relaxed person and it was fun to just chill and listen. His songs are some of my favorite songs, he has has such a great voice. I took a few picures after he played, I thought you might enjoy...so enjoy!

MMMelting Pot!

I went to Melting Pot for the first time on Saturday. It was quite the treat! There was so much food, you didn't know what to do with it all. My sisters, Ashley and Courtney, got me a dinner certificate for it and so it was only natural that we planned it around Ashley's honeymoon so she could go with us! I also invited a good 'ol friend of mine, my sweet little Amers to come along with her boy Chad. You start out with two different kinds of cheese and you each get your own fondue sticks. The cute thing is that they are all colored coded so when you leave your stick in the pot, you know which one is yours. With the cheese you could dip vegetables, chips, bread, and green apples in either kind of cheese. Then came the delicious salads, mine was a yummy mango salad. After that they brought out two different kinds of broth that you cooked your own shrimp, chicken, ravoli, beef, steak, and so on in. Finally came the delicious dessert. We got two chocolate fondues. One was a peanut butter caramel chocolate fondue and the other one was a oreo, marshmellow, chocolate fondue. Although it was adding love handles with each dip, it was worth it! It is kind of expensive so I don't know when I will go again, but it was a fun dinner to do. Here are some pictures so you can enjoy it with us.

Memorial Day Weekend

Although this was over a month ago, I still decided to post some pictures from it. We all went camping for Memorial weekend and it was a blast. Me and my brother-in-law went cross country running up a couple of mountains, we shot clay pigeons (I didn't do so well) but Colby dominated the competition. We played sports, we sat by the fire, we rode four - wheelers (which Colby did a little bit of damage to) and of course ate like crazy. It was beautiful up there and it was amazing to have Colby's mom up there with us! I got her hooked on 'Twilight' which was her companion during the car ride. I hope you enjoy the pictures! I included the video of me and Colby shooting. I didn't quite get the hold of it in this video so the gun kind of shot back more than I expected...haha. But Colby looks like a pro!

I have just been hired to an enrollment counselor at UNLV and I'm super excited! I have been trying to get back there after I graduated college and I just got the call on Thursday that I got the job and have been hired as an enrollment counselor. I start tomorrow so I'm excited for the new challenges and being able to work there again!

The Wedding!

My sister got married yesterday! It was a beautiful wedding. I was able to be her bridesmaid and it was great to be up there with her while she exchanged the 'I dos' with Brad. It took pretty much all day to set up so by the time the day was over, I was absolutely exhausted. This weekend was a busy, busy weekend. We had the groom's dinner on Friday, the wedding on Saturday, and I went to a baby shower today. I will post up some pictures of the wedding, enjoy!
